JoAnn Blohowiak is a South Minneapolis resident, artist, and graphic designer. She has created the BareBones tabloid for the past three years. For this year’s Halloween show, JoAnn will also be playing her trumpet with the BareBones Music Ensemble.

In its essence, it strives to be generous to all who wish to be part of a vehicle for the recognition of who we are in the moment, our connection to our world, and our ancestors, in what is the equivalent in the natural world of colorful salmon returning to a traditional spot to reinvent the next generation of the species. BareBones is a kaleidoscope of feeling, creating flashes of incoherent joy, beauty, recollection, and hope that we will continue to be doing the work that touches so many lives, and has wrought such beauty and connection.
